Yk Jenae Found Dead, Death Obituary: Girl Found Dead in Stagg Crescent Home, Death Ruled Homicide

The community of Mosakahiken Cree Nation is mourning the tragic death of 17-year-old Yk Jenae, whose life was cut short early Tuesday morning in a case now being investigated as a homicide. According to Moose Lake RCMP, officers responded on May 12, 2026, at approximately 4:15 a.m. to a report of an injured person at a residence located on Stagg Crescent. When officers arrived at the home, they discovered the teenage girl inside. Despite emergency response efforts, she was pronounced deceased at the scene. Loved ones later identified the victim as Yk Jenae.

Authorities have since confirmed that the death is being treated as a homicide. Investigators have not yet released details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident, and no information has been made public about possible suspects or what may have led to the tragedy. The residence was secured as officers began processing the scene, collecting evidence, and speaking with individuals who may have information that could assist the investigation.
