Palmyra Township, Pennsylvania – Family and friends across Pike County are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Ryan M. Johnson, a 28-year-old man from Newfoundland, Pennsylvania, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal motorcycle crash Sunday night in Palmyra Township.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the collision occurred at approximately 9:15 p.m. on May 17 at the intersection of Route 507 and Route 390.
Investigators reported that Ryan Johnson was operating a 2020 Kawasaki Ninja 400 motorcycle southbound on Route 507 when the crash occurred. Authorities said a 2017 Nissan Murano, driven by a 17-year-old female from Tafton, had stopped at a posted stop sign on Route 390 before attempting to make a left turn onto southbound Route 507.
As the SUV entered the roadway, Johnson’s motorcycle collided with the rear portion of the vehicle. The impact caused catastrophic injuries, and despite emergency response efforts, Ryan M. Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Officials confirmed that Johnson was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. The driver of the Nissan Murano was reportedly uninjured and declined medical treatment at the scene.

Investigators also listed “driving at safe speed” in relation to Johnson’s operation of the motorcycle.
